Radiant uses a combination of the biblical based curriculum, My Father’s World and additional enhancement supplementation as needed for various subjects.

Yes, student evaluations are given out at the end of each semester. The evaluations are an opportunity for parents to see how their students are doing academically and socially in their classrooms while also providing insight into supplemental partnership direction at home. Our teachers have set goals for each semester in order that all academic milestones will be accomplished in the classroom.
-
The goal for each class is to have 10 students for 1 teacher. If this amount is exceeded in students, we will have an assistant teacher for that room.
-
No homework is given at Radiant, however we encourage our students to spend study time at home if there is a quiz on a certain subject that week.
-
Yes, the 3 Year Old Early Learning Classroom and the K4 Classroom both have a nap/rest time. If you have a child in one of those classes, a nap mat will be asked to be provided by the parent.
-
Grades K4 and above must be potty trained.
While there is no expectation for your 3 year old child to be potty trained, it is also important to know that due to the responsibilities of the entire classroom, the 3 year old early learning classroom teachers are not responsible to help aid in potty training.

We do not require our teachers to make note of every bathroom break or diaper change on the Brightwheel App. We ask for our teachers to intentionally not be on their phones as much as possible throughout the day. We do encourage our teachers to communicate needed details with parents while on their breaks or after school.
-
We staff a full time law enforcement certified and experienced school resource officer to ensure a secure environment for our students. All doors remain locked during school hours with only staff members having a key. Our entire building is monitored by security cameras and we are thankful to have an on going partnership with the Irondale City Police who patrol our school parking lot daily. We also maintain school wide safety emergency protocols if there is ever a need.
-
All of our teachers are required to have a teaching certification, experience in a private or public school environment, or have adequate home school education experience that meets our standard of excellence.
-
Yes all teachers (lead and assistant teachers) are required to have a background check before teaching at Radiant.
-
Parent/Teacher communication is important and encouraged, please communicate with your child’s teacher through the Brightwheel App. Once enrolled at Radiant, you will receive a setup email from the school administrator to sign up and establish a profile on the app.
-
Please pack a leak proof water bottle, two snacks and lunch for your child each day. School refrigerator and microwave are for staff use only. Additional snacks or other items may be requested by your child’s specific teacher.
-
On Mondays we encourage parents to review and reinforce the weekly lessons, skills and concepts to enhance their child’s education. We have a Director of Education that oversees early learning through grade 3 and a Director of Education that oversees grades 4-9 who are available to help parents with additional homeschool resources and tools that will partner with what they are taught at school. This is not required, but available to those parents who may desire further help in educating their children at home. We encourage Fridays to be used for your child’s individual passions, meaningful family time and establishing rhythms of rest in your family.
